Document generation for Oracle APEX
Word templates in, PDFs out.
Renduva fills Word templates with your data and returns PDF or DOCX, from one line of PL/SQL. It runs on your own server, so business data never leaves your network.
Free during the beta. Runs on Docker, Podman, or RHEL-family Linux 8 and 9.
declare l_pdf blob; begin l_pdf := renduva.generate( p_template => 'invoice', p_data => l_json); -- built in SQL end;
Simple document generation, on your own servers
The parts an APEX application needs, and nothing it doesn't.
Templates made in Word
Design invoices, letters and certificates in Word. Type {{field}} where data goes, repeat table rows for each line, and swap stand-in pictures for logos and photos. Everything else prints exactly as designed.
Many records, one PDF
Send one record or a thousand. Each is filled from the same template and merged, in order, into a single PDF: a whole bill run in one call.
Built for PL/SQL
A small PL/SQL package returns the document as a BLOB, from APEX pages, plain PL/SQL and scheduler jobs. Build the JSON in SQL, get the PDF back.
Runs on your servers
One container or one RPM inside your network. Your data never goes to a cloud service, and nothing calls home, so it also works off the internet.
Keys, not data, in the logs
Every call needs an API key; only key hashes are stored. Logs record status and timing, never templates or the data in them.
Any language
One HTTP endpoint. Anything that can send JSON (Python, Java, C#, Node.js, Go) gets the same documents as PL/SQL.
How it works
Design in Word
Write the document as usual and type tags where the data goes: {{customer}}, and {{#items}} … {{/items}} around a table row.
Call it
From PL/SQL, renduva.generate('invoice', l_json). From anything else, one POST /generate with the same JSON.
Get the document
The filled document comes back as a PDF (via LibreOffice) or DOCX: to store, email, or download from an APEX page.
Small on purpose
Renduva does one job well: Word templates to PDF and DOCX, called from the database.
If you need spreadsheets, slide decks and dozens of formats, larger reporting tools exist. If you need invoices, statements, letters and certificates from APEX, generated inside your own network, at a price a small team can approve, Renduva is the short route: one server, one PL/SQL package, a template language you can learn in five minutes.
Free during the beta
We're looking for APEX and PL/SQL teams to use Renduva on real documents and tell us what's missing.
- The server as a container image or an RPM
- The PL/SQL package, ready to install
- Direct help from the developers while you set it up
- A discount on a paid license when version 1.0 ships
Join the beta
Tell us a little about your application and the documents you need. We'll send the packages and help you get the first PDF out.
